Advantages for IT Specialists

Designed to be the ideal, easy-to-use front-end tool for any XML-enabled content management system, Content Mapper is an optimal solution for efficient creation, importing, exporting, storing, and publishing of content (data and documents). Content Mapper is  highly configurable and easy to maintain due to its use of XML Web services and XML configuration and synchronization files.

Overall Benefits
Content Mapper allows the IT specialist to change the content management system or to add one without disrupting the user.  The IT specialist has great flexibility in meeting the demands from the business side.

Features

  • Content is stored in media neutral XML format
  • Web services architecture for maximum flexibility
  • Client-side and server-side event exits for custom processing
  • Handles multiple XML Schemas and DTDs
  • Supports content validation against XML Schemas and DTDs
  • Supports encrypted XML content (for example, XSLT stylesheets)
  • The Word -> XML -> Word round tripping includes vector-based Word graphics (VML)
  • Stylesheet driven export through XML and XSLT stylesheets. Exports to XML (other Schemas and DTDs), HTML, PDF (without Adobe Acrobat), and/or Word (different structures/layouts)
  • Controlled user interface. All toolbars and menus are completely configurable through XML configuration files. This makes it possible to simplify the user interface and to leave out unnecessary buttons and commands. The purpose of controlling the toolbars is to control author behavior and to secure that the content will remain “un-polluted” according to corporate standards
  • Content Mapper can work up against multiple content management systems in parallel
  • Highly configurable through the following XML configuration files: Language, Standard tables, Wizard forms and fragments, Document types (including metadata, attributes, toolbars, reusable components), and Publishing options.
  • Document metadata and component attributes. It is easy to add managed, validated metadata, based on complex value sets from external databases and add search attributes to the different components in each document
  • Client Synchronization through XML configuration files
  • Back-end systems can be changed/replaced without it being visible to the user, reducing the cost and increasing speed of implementation of new systems.
